JUDGED THE WINNERS - Washburn High School held its annual junior exhibition speaking contest Friday evening in the high school gymnasium. Named the winners were Miss Sylvia Blackstone and Edrick Flewelling. Miss Blackstone, chosen as the girls winner, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wendall Blackstone. Flewelling, the winner for the boys, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edrick Flewelling of Crouseville. Miss Blackstone gave a humorous speech and Flewelling a dramatic one. (Humphrey Photo)
