50th Wedding Anniversary Is Celebrated

PRESQUE ISLE - Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Deeves celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by holding and open house at their Academy Street home Monday.

The anniversary party was given by Mr. and Mrs. Victor Deeves of Houlton, and Mrs. Merle Deeves of Washburn. A golden anniversary cake was presented to them by Mr. and Mrs. Victor Deeves, and flowers by Mrs. Mede Deeves.

The honored couple received many cards and gifts from friends, neighbors and relatives.

A money tree was made by Mrs. Norma Gregg of Washburn.

Devotions were led by Victor Deeves, with Candace Sperrey singing a solo. Others assisting in the celebration were Mrs. Pauline Wilson of Wrentham, Mass. Mrs. Eva Deeves and Mrs. Paula Peterson of Colby, and Harold Adams Jr., of Washburn.

The couple were married in Presque Isle by a Baptist minister on June 18, 1917.
