Charles Smith McIntire and Phyllis Evogene Carr were married at Abbot Village on June 27, 1917 with the Rev. Harry M. Daniels officiating. Their attendants were Miss Ricker of Bangor, cousin of the bride and Floyd McIntire of Perham, brother of the bridegroom.
Mr. McIntire was born at Perham, the son of Fred and Lulu McIntire. Mrs. McIntire was born in Abbot Village, the daughter of Sumner and Edna Carr. Mr. McIntire has been engaged in farming since 1915.
The couple have three children, Mrs. Kenneth Dow of Woodland, Fred of Perham and Wilbur of Sunnyvale, Calif.
The Rev. Relland Clark was master of, ceremonies for a program of readings and musical selections in the church auditorium. Rev. Clark gave the invocation. Mrs. Richard Hill gave an account of the wedding in 1917. Mrs. Peter Flewelling sang two solos. Remarks were made by Milford Blackstone and the Rev. Read Blackstone. Edrick Flewelling Jr. played saxaphone selections. A reading was given by Mrs. Hartson Blackstone Sr. Pianists were Miss Carolyn Flewelling and Mrs. Emma Dow. Benediction was given by the Rev. Read Blackstone.
In the receiving line with the honored couple were Mrs. McIntire's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hill of Sangerville and Mr. McIntire's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Flewelling of Crouseville.
Assisting with the reception were Miss Judith Dow. Mrs. Hazel Everett, Mrs. Glenna Blackstone and Mrs. Flora Flewelling, Mrs. Kenneth Dow and Mrs. Fred McIntire. were hostesses. Also assisting were: Mrs. Opal Everett, Mrs. Cassie Mosher, Presque Isle; Mrs. Gladys Clark, Mrs. Florence Calkins, Mrs. Florence Huston and Mrs. Brenda Dow.
