Mr. and Mrs. H. Dickinson Observe 50th Anniversary

Perham -- Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dickinson were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary August 4 [1967] at a fete planned by their children at the Perham Baptist Church.

The honored couple received cards, gifts, a money tree and a money fan from friends and relatives who gathered to congratulate them. They also received a phone call from their granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Todd of Laurel. Md.

Receiving with Mr. and Mrs. Dickinson were their four children Mrs. Dickinson wore a light blue jacket dress accented by a corsage of yellow roses.

Miss Molly McBreairty was in charge of the guest book and folders, assisted by Lendall Tarr. Viola Helstrom presided at the money tree assisted by Linda Seward at the gift table.

Mrs. Amber Tarr cut the four-tier cake which was made by Mrs. Vespa Johnson, using the wedding knife of Mrs. Paul Todd, the couple's granddaughter.

Deborah Carroll and Linda Seward poured the coffee and punch. Also assisting in serving were Anita Tarr, Doris McBreairty, Bridget McIntosh, Odelle Dickinson and Noreen McIntosh.

Ushers were Randy and Terry Tarr.

A program was presented by family and friends. Master of ceremonies was Marvin McBreairty, grandson of the honored couple, Favorite hymns were sung by the group, lead by Rev. Relland Clark with Emma Dow at the piano. Rev. Read Blackstone, accompanied by Clayton Blackstone, Jr., sang "Under His Wings". Osborne Gregg sang "You Will Need Him", written by the late Medie Herrick of Washburn. He was accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Harris, who, composed the music Molly McBreairty played a piano solo, "Somewhere My Love"; then Molly and Marvin played two piano-trumpet duets, "The Sweet By And By" and "The Trumpeter". "The Lord's Prayer" was sung by Mrs. Noreen McIntosh, accompanied by Mrs. Emma Dow.

Mr. and Mrs. Dickinson were married in Perham on August 2, 1917, where they have always made their home. They have four children, Mrs. Clifford (Amber) Tarr of Perham, Mrs. James (Doris) McBreairty of Perham, Mr. Marvin Dickinson of Caribou, and Mrs. Alden (Anita) Tarr of Perham. They have 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. They are members of the Washburn Pentecostal Church.
