Area Man Honored by Motor Club

WASHBURN -- A local man, Murray Allen, Jr., has been awarded the man of the year award of the North American Automobile Association Motor Club in the United States.

The award is made on the basis of sales volume and consistency of sales.

The North American Shield, the most coveted award presented by the association, was given to him and his team this year.

The award has been held by New York State for the past several years and this is the first time that it has been awarded to a group in the State of Maine.

The team that received the award consists of four members, William Savary, Sr. of Ashland, Douglas Cray of Mapleton, Vaughn Nicholson of Easton and Allen.

The presentation was made in Moncton, N. B., by the vice-president of the Association, Joseph Lewicki.

The Association is a sister motor club to the Dominion Automobile Association Motor Club of Canada.
