Washburn Man Wins Scholarship

WASHBURN - Eugene Drost, son of Gertrude Drost of Washburn, has just been awarded a $1,700 scholarship from Springfield College.

Drost is a senior there majoring in the earth sciences.

He just returned from Emory University's Geology Summer Field Camp which is located in the Valley and Ridge Province of Northwest Georgia.

A study of the structure, stratigraphy, paleontology, and physiography of the folded Paleozoic sediments was made by Drost while at Emory's Field Camp. He plans to go into the field of earth science education upon graduation.
