Authoress Will Teach At WHS

WASHBURN - Mrs. Milford (Dorothy) Kidney, formerly from this area, will be teaching junior high English in Washburn this fall and will be in charge of the Junior High Library.

Mrs. Kidney graduated from Presque Isle High School. She received her B.S. in education from Gorham State College. She has also taken courses at the University of Maine, University of Indiana and the University of Mississippi.

Mrs. Kidney is the writer of numerous articles and short stories. She has had three books published, "Come and See," and illustrated book for preschool children; "Lively Youth Meetings," a book of youth programs for use in churches; and "Away From It All," a story of the Allagash country of Maine where she and her husband have lived summers.

Mrs. Kidney has had eight years of teaching experience in Gray and Yarmouth.

Other new teachers in the Washburn staff will be Michael Thomas, Charleston, Elementary Physical Education; Vernon Perry, Easton, Junior High School Science; and Robert Young, Presque Isle, who will be teaching Industrial Arts in the High School.
