Mrs. Corey Is Named Postmaster

WASHBURN -- Mrs. Elaine R. Corey is the new postmaster of Washburn as of Jan. 8 [1971] according to William F. Bolger, regional director of the U. S. Postal Service.

She has been serving as Officer-In-Charge since March 13, 1970.

An example of the new Postal Services Program to promote career employees, Mrs. Corey was appointed a Career Substitute Clerk in September of 1946.

Born in Washburn, she is a lifelong resident.

Mrs. Corey worked in a local potato processing plant prior to her postal employment. She has been active in church and community affairs. 1
