They were married at Washburn. June 23, 1921, The Rev. Nelson Magoon, pastor of the Washburn Pentecostal Church, performed the ceremony. They have resided here for the past 50 years. Mr. Churchill was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1965.
They have five sons, Austin, John, Gerald, Robert and Francis all of Washburn. Six daughters, Mrs. John (Betty) Palmer of Washburn; Mrs. Gerald (Beryl) Clark, of Mars Hill, Mrs. Ambrose (Junaita) Edwards, of Myrtle Beach, S, C.; Mrs. Raymond (Evelyn) Day, Caribou Mrs. William (Lona) Clark, of Presque Isle: Mrs. Robert (Linda) Sowers, of Weirton, W. Va.; 34 grandchildren
and three great grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Churchill are members of the Washburn Pentecostal Church, Mrs. Churchill being an active member of the Women's Missionary Council.
Mr. and Mrs. Churchill received gifts, cards and flowers included was a replica of their first home containing gifts of money from guests. The replica was built by their son-in-law Rev. John Palmer.
The traditional four-tier anniversary cake was made by their daughter. Mrs. Evelyn Day.
