The alumni association president, Mrs. Brenda White, mistress of ceremonies, welcomed guests and alumni. Prayer was offered by the Rev. Read Blackstone of the Advent Christian Church, Dunntown.
The graduation class were guests of the association. They were welcomed by Mrs. Joyce Flewelling, of the Class of 1948, and her daughter, Barbara Flewelling, gave the response.
The class sang their Class Ode, "Yesterday and Today." A vocal trio, Belinda Perry, Darlene James and Charlotte Fox, sang two selections. They were accompanied by Mrs. Sylvia Fox.
The Class of 1923 observed their 50th reunion, were welcomed by the president with the response being given by Mrs. Gertrude Bragdon Crouse. Thirteen members of the class, including Mrs. Crouse, were present: Mrs. Ceola (Bugbee) McEwen of Bowdoinham; Mrs. Thelma (Carr) Griffin and Sheldon Peary of Presque Isle; Mrs. Lola (Chase) Stoddard, Fort Fairfield; Mrs. Avis (Greenleaf) Magoon, Mattawamkeag; Ernest Grant, Augusta; Garold Peary, Hallowell; Miss Alice McKay and Mrs. Fern (Roy) Thibodeau, Perham; Mrs. Audrey (White) Lint, Mapleton; Mrs. Gretcher (Gould) Valley and Mrs. Flora (McIntire) Flewelling, Washburn.
Gifts were presented the class by Rodney Drake from the Alumni Association and Mrs. Drake made an anniversary cake.
Awards from the association were presented as follows: Alumni Citizenship Medal to Michael Sperry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sperry, Washburn. Scholarship awards from the association to be used the second semester of next school year to Beth Marie Arculeo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Arculeo, Washburn, $100, and Kenneth Wilcox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wilcox, Washburn, $100. Mr. and Mrs. Dudley McCall were given honorary membership award, which was received by Timothy Humphrey.
Election of officers was held for '73-'74: Roger Crouse, president; Susan Sands, vice president; Mrs. Prudence Dobson, secretary-treasurer. Executive board: Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Drake and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Clark.
The reunion class retired to the teachers room at the close of the meeting to visit together and to tell the history of their life since graduation. The class graduated with 38 members, eight of whom have passed away.
