Washburn Civic Center Dedicated By Rotarians

The Washburn Rotary Club dedicated the new Civic Center in the town office building on Maine street Wednesday evening. They plan to use the center for their weekly club meeting.

The new center has a spacious meeting room with dining room facilities and a convenient and modern kitchen.

President Jim Clark presided over the business meeting. Tentative plans were discussed to hold a public chicken barbecue Sept. 1. The location will be announced later. The new district governor of this area. Robert McCain, of Florenceville, N.B. officially visited the club, and presented a very interesting talk. Carl Crompton, the new president of the Florenceville, N.B. Rotary Club accompanied the district governor.

One other guest was Bruce Richardson, son of Rotarian Sheldon Richardson. Nineteen members were present.
