The New Jersey Festival of Ballooning

Solberg Airport, Readington, New Jersey

July 24, 1999

How a balloon goes up, up, and away!

Laying out the balloon.   Blowing air into it, using high powered fans.

Getting ready to fire the torch.   Filling the balloon with hot air.

A critical time, when inflation can fail.

Success! It is full and ready to ascend.   Lifting off the ground.

The ground crew has cleared away from the balloon and watch its ascent.

The evening ascent

Two of our favorite balloons: the tuxedo and the Korbel Champagne bottle.

We like the cat-shaped balloon.

One of the fun-shaped balloons, the United Van Lines Truck, begins to fill.

This balloon, with the dragon wrapped around the outside was a definite crowd pleaser.

The Budweiser and Bud Lite products compete, even in the air.

Looked like Budweiser was first up. Over on the right is another shaped balloon, a teddy bear.

The sky is filled with balloons.

A fabulous site, worth the trip.
