At the time of writing we have been in Auckland for 5 weeks and it seems as though we have driven past at least 150 different houses that we have found in the local real estate papers. The kids absolutely hate it now when we say we are just going for a little drive. Hey, you can't blame them they are only 6, 4 and nearly 2 and would much rather be running about than stuck in carseats for hours on end.

The main problem is that the housing market in Hawkes Bay was very depressed compared to Auckland, so to get an equivalent home here is going to cost a heck of a lot more. Bear in mind that we have just shifted from our 4year old home that we built on 927m2 with a rural outlook. Everything that we have looked at so far that we can afford is usually very dated and needs a lot doing to it, or it is only a half site with the neighbours living in your backyard!! Needless to say we have become rather disheartened with what is on offer.

Just last week we started thinking about building our own home again. Well we have started searching for sections and building companies with a vengeance. At least the boys don't mind looking at sections quite the same - they can get out and run around without getting told off for touching people's things.
