I have a 1 bedroom, 1 bath condo for rent in the Daniel Burnham Court complex in San Francisco. The building is centrally located, and has a common pool, gym, sauna and a jacuzzi. (this picture taken on a Saturday in September. Temperature in S.F. that day was over 80 F, only one person using the pool!) Entry to the residential towers is limited by electronic card keys and has 24 hour security/doormen.
This unit is unique in the building. It is on the southwestern corner, which results in natural light year-round. The floor plan is one of the largest in the development at 800 sq. feet, and one of a handful with a large (260 sq. ft.) deck. It has 10 foot ceilings in the living room and bedroom, and the building design minimizes common walls, which virtually eliminates noise from neighboring units.
A Walgreens and a Bell Market are on the next block, 2 movie complexes are across the street, the Opera House and Davies Symphony Hall are 7 blocks down Van Ness. There are restaurants everywhere, at least 30 within 3 blocks. The Financial District is 10 minutes away by bus (3 bus lines run down Post St., a wait of 2-4 minutes is normal).
Descriptions and Photos
It has a large, all electric kitchen with a side-by-side refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher and disposal.
The bedroom has a wall-length closet with mirrored sliding doors. It is quite large, I had a queen-sized pedestal bed and a desk in there with room for more. There is a 4 foot wide alcove in front of the window, which is room enough for a computer desk.
The bathroom has a pedestal sink, a shower/tub, and two large closets. Between the bath and the bedroom is a vanity with sink and mirror, which can be closed off from the rest of the unit.
The living room is very large at 17 by 14 feet, with room for a dining table. It is very light and airy, the 10 foot ceilings add to the sense of space.
A sliding door opens out to the private deck, surrounded by planters with trees, and has a soothing reflective fountain on one corner. The trees do a great job of affording the unit a great deal of privacy.
There is plenty of storage with a number of closets in the unit, and a locker adjacent to the assigned parking space (parking fee is additional).
A prepaid card operated laundry room is conveniently situated at the other end of the floor (no disturbance to this unit!) as is the trash chute.
Rent is $1,650 per month and includes water, Expanded Basic cable TV and garbage as well as access to the gym and pool facilities. The only things the tenant must pay for are phone and electricity, typically $30-40 per month. A one year lease, security deposit of $2,000 and first month's rent will be required before move-in. The Homeowner's Association charges a one-time $100 move in fee, which covers re-programming card-keys and making the loading dock and a padded elevator available for moving furniture etc.
Property is available August 20th. New carpets and painting have to be done first.
No Pets- my previous tenants ruined it for everyone by getting a puppy. Their lease said they could have 2 cats, the puppy demolished the carpets.
