I have two different Brennan Families:

1. John Carr b. <1820>, married  in Ireland possibly before 1847, Annie Brennan b.  <1829> John died 1857
a.  first child John A. Carr b 7/1847 in Summit Hill PA died 11/10/1897
b. Thomas Brennan Carr b. 8/06/1850 in Summitt Hill PA died 3/23/1912
c. Edward <1853>
d. Helena Carr (Ellen) b. 11/19/1856

John Carr and Annie Brennan Carr sponsored Cecilia Gillespie, dughter of Hugh and Mary Gillespie baptizee March 19, 1854 (probably in Summitt Hill, Catholic Church)
Note that the Carr and possibly Brennan family from Glenties County Donegal Ireland.

Annie Brennan Carr then married Michael O'Donnell and moved to Tamaqua, 1/10/1858.

I also have a note Methodist to Catholic but I believe children Carr were all baptized after their births at the Catholic Church.

In the 1860 Federal Census PA

Tamaqua area children were all given O'Donnell names but older ones probably Carr children.

My second family of Brennan's is the most difficult to find.

Margarett Brennan b. 1850-1853 in PA.  Her parents had money and may have lived in a wealthier secion of PA and possibly a different county.

Margarett married Thomas Ryan who worked for the Mines and possibly the RR, about 1871-73.  Her family was very opposed to her "marrying a man who was not of their social level" and may have disowned her and had nothing to do with her as a result.

Margarett Brennan Ryan and Thomas Ryan were both born in PA .
Their children were named:
