The British
Columbia Cricket Association is the governing body of cricket in the Province
of British Columbia. It is the provincial liaison to the Canadian Cricket
Association of which it is a member.
The Association was
formed in 1912 and was fully incorporated in 1942
British Columbia is taking the lead in
planning and delivering the most successful cricket programs in Canada.
By 2004, the sport is entrenched in
the school system and is being played at different levels by people of every
background, from the indigenous population to immigrants of multi-ethnic
origin.
In striving for excellence, our
vision is to also help Canada achieve One Day International status, the
desideratum of all Associate member countries, and advance closer to being a
major cricketing country.
MISSION
Our mission is to
foster, promote and deliver services that enable the people of British Columbia
to take part in the sport at all levels of participation from recreational to
international.
The BCCA must
prioritize its objectives or areas of emphasis, and look for the most efficient
and innovative ways to accomplish its ends.
MANDATE
The BCCA’s mandate or imperative is to
increase the number of participants, including athletes, officials, volunteers
and partners, while simultaneously offering opportunities to strive for
excellence, thus offering both a quantitative and qualitative component to its
efforts.
