Going step by step in making your own solar cooking oven -
More information to come
This solar cooker on the left is
the first one that I built in the summer of 1998. When it was
first built, on any sunny day, it could get cooking temperatures
up to 275 degrees or more... and on bright overcast days, it could heat
up to 200 degrees.
Today, in 2004, that old home made solar cooker has been rained
on so many times, it is literly falling apart.... but on a sunny day,
it can still get temperatures over 200 degrees. I plan build a new
solar cooker soon, one that is a little more water proof.
Cooking with Solar : Many foods that can be solar cooked
Solar Cooking
This is an example of some of the many foods that can be cooked by a simple
cardboard box cooker, and a reflector for additional heat. Temperatures up to
350 degrees F. can be routinely gathered on sunny days.
