Back from Vacation

After a week in Mexico, 85 degrees doesn't seem so hot.  First floor walls are started and a few friends grab the nail gun and help out with the "some assembly required".

Peter helps build and stand the west wall.

Charlie works so fast that even with Mel and I both laying out walls and cutting for him, we couldn't keep up!

Most builders do not use a chop saw, but it is Mel's favorite tool.  It is especially good for cutting smaller pieces - like blocking or cripple studs.  (And you get a right angle cut every time!)

South wall is done.  Blocking pieces wait on the sill plate for installation.  The are installed approximately 8 feet high per fire code requirements - see below.

East wall under construction.
