"HYDROGEN GAS or BIOGAS?"
Slowly the world begins to move. I mean towards a more sustainable, environmental friendly world.

These people in the government of Iceland (the little island in the north Atlantic),
they have started a neckdaring project in favor of the environment.

Because they plan to switch from petroleum to hydrogen based fuel. They will begin early in the year 2000 by adapting the bus-engines to run on hydrogen gas. In the process they will use alcohol as a storage and distributing medium for the gas.
Iceland is a country where it is a lot of natural (geothermal) heat down   in the ground, due to the volcanic  activity in the region. The Icelanders takes great advantage of it.

 HYDROGEN, THE ATOM NO 1
How do they get hold of the gas ? Well, there is a few ways to capture it. (hydrogen is the most frequent atom in the universe, and no:1 because it has only one proton),
The simpliest way is to let the nature take care of it, and get biogas, which is produced out of garbage of life and a reasonably hot ambient temperature.
I donīt know if this is the way they will choose, but maybe.
Iceland has a lot of hot water springs, so there is a perfect place to make the biogas.
It could be done around the world, in the tropic areas as well, and India is a country where a lot of people have their own biogas plant.
Biogas is a mixture, and needs purifing, but thatīs easy.
Up to now, the path looks straight forward.

If you seek for "hydrogen gas on iceland" you will find a number of sites to look on, among others

This is a few places to learn whatīs going on.
