3D Graphics, or Processor Enslavement

Tag230am.jpg (9281 bytes) All I can say right now is POV-Ray, POV-Ray, POV-Ray   That's what I used to do the Turd Scout rendering and forthcoming animations.  Rather excited that November (1997) has brought me the wisdom to work the .ini files to my frame producing pleasure.    I've also got that cool Dead Baby blob with height field letters a-pokin all through and hidden torus blood spills.
Long nights are spent with the tape measure.

My 200-Mhz rips (ed note-this was 1997!), I can run the turd scout (quite a few cylinders mind you) at 320x240 in like 12 seconds per frame.  Yahhhh!  Little renderings go so fast I can bust out 20 frames before my own awe washes over.  POV-Ray is a near-limitless, powerful tool.

I probably rendered this faster than it takes you to download:  Sorry, but, if you wait, it'll make you as dizzy as rolling down a grassy hill, a big grassy hill, really!!  C'mon, wait!  Check out the shadows on the floor.  Wow, sure is wicked windy out there, just like here.  All that bozo cloud crap takes about 30 secs for a 200x200 image.  Bearable at only 15 frames in the revolution.  Yikes, 168K, hold tight!

Kind of like the feeling you get after riding it for a while.

Background image is from Cindy Crawford doing the Botticelli Venus pose but with a snake, found elsewhere on the net and laboriously measured and converted to 3D space, without the snake and an irresistable breast enhancement.  This is simply a mathematical object, no boners please.  Admittedly hot, however.  You too can build you own Barbie with POV-Ray.

And beware of Alice! This seems tenatively to be a half-assed way of doing VRML stylings, but seems to run a lot quicker, but only on my hard drive. It was the free CD that sold me (I wait by my snailbox), I've built a world or two, but I need to insert my objects! I enjoy the romanticism of their quest in a nerdy, CS kind of way. Plus, I've always loved Pittsburgh. Yo Becker!

Their are really nifty graphics to be had, and while not truly 3D, are keen fractals that can make your computer concentrate. My favorites are at Flarium et Iterations, francophiles way on the math trip. Ravers rejoice! You should have plenty a flyer background in seconds.

Oh yeah, and if your processor ain't cooking 24-7 yet, if it's not providing heat for your entire computer space, get a VRML viewer, and get your unlimited web-time and increasingly straining modem heat you up. The Cosmo Player works for me, and right there they've got so many sample worlds I haven't got near through. Good luck. Just start searching for VRML and send me your favorites. I'll point you in better VRML directions when I figure it out myself, and once I find a builder I can make my own objects in, give you the sweetest of virtual chopper rides. I swear I'll look, I swear, or find a job at a game company, or...

boxani.GIF (20320 bytes)  E-mail here if you will.   Can't get that word to spin jes' right and to my liking, but close enough.  POV-Ray can be a bugger every once in a while, but it just wants you to figure it out..
