YEAH! We had our first social night of the summer last night, the 3rd June, in Glenalbyn House pub in Stillorgan. Know it? A great night was had by all, experienced and newcomers alike, it was slick to have a get-together with so many enthuastic surfers and spongers.
Geoff Will is the man with all the vids - great stuff on the big screen, especially the Jaws tow-in action and Mavericks in North Cal. Tanya Ward (sponged for Ireland in the '97 Euros) had her b-day - the big 21! (?) Needless to say all the cake was robbed pretty quick.
We had the club shirts here for the first time, a funky bergoundy colour, and real good quality. There's a neat little logo on the breast with the name under it, and a big fecker of a logo on the whole of the back. They only cost £9 (£8 to members) so you've no excuse. Props to our man Martin Corr, who's just back from an epic trip to Portugal, is a student graphic designer and did a super job on said logos, and the notices and letterheads etc. Also thanks to SEAT, who gave us the cash for the shirts, much appreciated. EVERYONE BUY SEAT, THEY RULE!!!
Anyway, a merry night had by all, and here's to more in the future... (too many people are off for the summer, so sometime in September/October, I hope)
