SURF DOCK

I was just here today 25th April for the first time getting a second-hand windsurfer for my uncle. Its a good shop, they're very friendly and knowledgable, and is situated just on the docks in the old ship that used to go to the Aran Islands. There is also a diving shop next door. It's main focus is windsurfing, and it has a lot of new and second-hand gear. It has surfboards by Gecko and Bic. They have a great range of wetsuits and accesories like bags and clothes, bodyboards by Rheopaipo and others, and they have a fair few magazines and videos, mainly windsurfing though. Also water-skiing. Look up their number in the yellow pages.

Technically this is Northern Ireland but I like to think of Ireland as a one surf nation. You will get any equipment you are looking for here including board and wetsuit hire (and if you are surfing the north coast wetsuits are a pretty good idea).
ROSSNOWLAGH SURF CLUB

You can hire boards and suits from the club. There is also the surfers bar in Rossnowlagh and you know what you can do there. I had the misfortune to end up in Rossnowlagh on the weekend of the Orange Order marches (the weekend before the twelfth of July) and I recommend to steer clear of the area on that weekend. I must say I do not understand why these fanatics are allowed celebrate the fact that Catholics were beaten in a battle 400 years ago in Ireland ????
