A big thank you to the parents and swimmers for all your generosity over the holidays. The coaches want to thank the parent board for their holiday bonus, and the presents from the children and families. They were appreciated by us all. You really are too kind and spoil us! We also appreciate the many gifts for our two families for "sharing Christmas". I was overwhelmed by your thoughtfulness. We are blessed to work with such wonderful families.
Enclosed is the meet schedule for 1999. The Zone Championships will be January 30-31 at DeAnza College in Cupertino. Entries for the meet are due at the pool BEFORE January 15th, 1999. Checks should be made payable to the Daly City Dolphins, as we must pay for our team entries with one check. REMINDER: parking at the college costs 8 quarters (no bills) each day.
New "A" times for 1999! Some of you will have new "A" times without swimming a meet. The time standards for all age groups were made slower for 1999. If you notice the Solo Meet on Jan 9-10, it has the new times listed. If you now have an "A" time, the team will give you your "A" medal. If you hit the time at a meet, the host team will supply your "A" medal.
1999 Swim Guides are in and will be given out at the end of the month. They will have the new time standards (B, A, AA, Q & PRT) as well as all the meets for 1999, and the records and rules. USA 1999 Membership Cards will be with them.
We will again schedule a Winter Outing for the swimmers who go to Zone Championships. So be at the Zone Championships (a Team Meet), and join us for fun in the snow!
Starting January 18th, ALL practices will begin at 5:00 p.m. Westmoor's swim team will be in the water from 3-5 p.m., and we will start after they get out at 5:00 p.m. 8 & Unders will be out at 6:00 p.m.; 10 & Unders will be out at 6:30 p.m.; and 11 & Up will be out at 7:00 p.m.
If you need any swim supplies for the Zone Championships, or for any other reason, call Perlita Soriano who can direct you to the right suppliers and such. Order early!
Let's make 1999 one of our greatest years ever - we are counting on a new level of dedication from every DCD Swimmer and parent!
