Long course has started and the team did well at Los Altos on April 16-19. Kevin Apolinario hit P.R.T. times in the 8/Under 50 Back and Breast; Chris Nguyen put up new "AA's" in the 11-12 50 & 100 Free, as did Nicky Leung in the 100 Free.
New "A's" came from Marc Apolinario (11-12), Isaac and Rosa Castellon (13-14 50 Free), Bradford Chan (15-16 50 Free, his first "A"), Stanley Chen (13-14 200 Breast), Kevin Dolar (11-12 100 Free), Ashley Ann Feria (8/Under 50 Back, she also broke team records for 6/Under in those events at her last 6/Under meet), Jeff Lu (13-14 100 Back), Najelah Najdawi (8/Under 50 & 100 Free, 50 Fly & Breast), Desiree Romero (13-14 50, 100, 200 Free, 100 Back, 200 Breast).
Also swimming were Alyssa Bautista, Wilbert Chan, Christine Dimagmaliw, Lana Dongses, Kristie La, Jamielyn Romero, Patrick and Priscilla Ting. DCD had 67% life best times which is very good in their first long course meet!
I have meet sheets for the Tahoe Invitational on July 10th-12th. Those who plan to go, please make reservations for hotels NOW. Those who plan to camp with DCD should call Violet Dongses (650) 992-1623 to reserve a campsite. For those of you who have never been to the Tahoe Meet before, please make plans to be there --- we always have a great time camping, swimming, and enjoying the family atmosphere there.
Summer Pre-Comp is coming June 21st through August 13th. We will have try-outs June 7th-11th, and 14th - 18th. The price is only $150.00 for the whole summer, and we will limit the enrollment this year to 40 (rather than 50 in past years). We anticipate having 5 groups of 8 swimmers each. We may add more, if more coaches become available at the pool after May 1st, but at this point, 40 looks like the limit. So if you know some families that would like their children to learn to swim (and of course to become Dolphins!) tell them to sign up EARLY!
Memorial Day Meets are as follows: We have meets sheets for Tiger Aquatics in Stockton, and we are awaiting the sheet from Benecia (which is an hour closer). So if you are planning to attend a meet on Memorial Day get the meet sheets in as soon as possible.
