The annual DCD Dolpha-Thon was another huge success! Thanks to all the swimmers and parents who participated in this years event. Don't forget to send in the monies you raised to Treasurer Norma Cosiac with your monthly dues. The monies need to be in by May 10th if possible.
Don't forget that we have another exciting fundraiser this month... our first "Dance Party Fund Raiser". The telephone committee will be calling you to see if you can help set up, tear down, or donate items for the raffle. So please do what you can to make this new event a great success. The dance party will be held on Saturday, May 23rd at 8:00 PM at the gymnasium near Doelger Center, 111 Westlake Avenue. A flyer is enclosed, so adults, invite some friends, and we'll see you there.
There is not too much news in the way of swimming. Therefore, we will not have a Coaches Corner article with this newsletter. A reminder that the pool will be closed on Monday May 25th for Memorial Day. Some swimmers may attend the Stockton Meet on May 23-25th. See your swim guide for more details on meets out of the area.
Have you ever thought about becoming a member of the DCD Parent Board? Remember, this is a parent run team, and we need your help! Call president Madelyn Banares for details. Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday May 20th. We'd like to have you join us.
The Santa Barbara clinic we were attempting to organize will not be happening this year. We will try to take a look at it again next year, so don't keep those dates open for that.
A reminder that some of the DCD families will be attending the Tahoe Meet in July. Get a meet sheet at the pool, and sign up NOW. Traditionally, this meet fills up fast, so you need to make arrangements as soon as possible. Some campsites are available, and normally we have a great time camping, swimming, and vacationing. This is not a Team Meet as in other years, but you can still have a great time at beautiful Lake Tahoe.
