SURF/BODYBOARD Secret spots in Portugal

Praia da Foz

Ok, guys. The first secret spot IŽm going to reveal is a left-reef-break.

Located 20 miles south of Lisbon, it stands between Praia do Meco and Cabo Espichel, and is named Praia da Foz.

Althrough good for surf, it is a incredible wave for bodyboard. Breaking over a perfect reef, it provides a "turbo" drop, an amazing fast tube, and ends with a ramp perfect for great airs.

Without no noubt, one of the the fastest waves in Portugal. Works with low water / flood-tide.

Soon youŽll find here some pictures of this great spot. I call it "mini-Pipeline".

HOW TO GET THERE?

Get the N378 road that leads to Sesimbra. A while before turn right when you see "Alfarim ->". Just keep straight ahead about 10 miles in west direction and following "Praias ->". A mile before reach the well know "Praia das Bicas" you find an off-road that will leed you to "Praia da Foz". When you reach the sea, you won't see the wave from the road, as you have to go down there and look right.
There is a reef near to the right end of the small beach that makes break this perfect wave. If you find any local surfers, you can ask for Telmo Diniz, a friendly guy that will tell about the spots near by.
