Janet Lundquist!!

Oh, brother! What can we say about Janet? Not much that can be published to the general public! Well, she's a Herd woman, y'know, and that says just about enough. In fact, there's a rumor that after a club meeting, she woke up with TWO Herd shirts! (Go figure!) She moved out to California and hooked up with Fred, and, well, nobody's really sure how she got on this team! But she makes sure the beer is always cold, and gets us good room and rental car rates, so maybe we'll keep her around.

Sorry, guys, as we said, she's married, and quite happily, thankyouverymuch!! Those beaudacious ta-ta's are all Fred's! And, yes, they're real.

We searched high and low for Janet... Couldn't find her. Checked every bar, and under every rock, but no luck. Then lo and behold, she popped out of a thorny rose bush covered with ladybugs and we pinned her down! This was the strangest darned interview we ever did, but we think you'll be amazed at some of the facts about janet:

• Q: And many jumps are you up to now, Janet?

• A: I have no clue! I stopped logging about two years ago. One of these days I'll get back to it. It's over 2300, though.

• Q: Why do you like doing 8-way?

  A: I just think the intricacies of the points and transitions are beautiful. Even prettier points and block moves than 4-way. It's great to observe that kind of precision done well. Someday I'm gonna observe US doing it well! In the meantime, I'm satisfied with watching Airspeed do it well.

  Q: Why do you compete?

  A: Because I look good with a medal hanging around my neck.

  Q: What's your favorite block?

  A: Oh, jeez, you had to ask! What day is it??? Well, it depends on what we're about to do, or what we just finished. Could be the block I just did or the block I'm about to do. They're all pretty cool. And is liking them ALL so bad????

  Q: Hmmmm... Ok, let's move on. So, what was your most memorable skydive?

  A: Absolutely my wedding reception jump. The happiest day of my life, AND we got to do a bitchin' skydive!! I was awesome. And I gotta tell ya, having someone run out to serve you champagne when you land can get pretty comfortable!

  Q: Was I on that dive?? So, when you're off somewhere in the ozone (which sounds like it's often), do you ever think of profound thoughts on skydiving???

  A: Wow. Yeah, I sure do. Lots of profound thoughts, actually, but I'll just say this: Skydiving not only has changed my life; it is an entire way of life. I've met the greatest people through the sport. And as long as there are great people in this sport, I'll keep skydiving!

  Q: That was probably the most profound thing I've ever heard. You are just the coolest, most together gal around. That Fred is one lucky guy. And I know he's cool, so you must be the coolest couple in the sport, right?

  A: No doubt in my mind!
