the key to trials is to learn each trick at a time, there is no fast way to becoming a pro so when you are trying these tricks remember to take your time and to make sure you perfect each trick before you move on to the next, and make sure you dont forget that you havent learnt the trick until you have perfected it.
the track stand might not be a flashy trick or a head spinner but the track stand is one of the most important tricks to learn, it teaches and improves your balence. to perform the track stand ride along at jogging pave then eaze on the break and come to a stand still, turn the front wheel 45 degrees and keep your shoulders over the handle bars with your chocolate foot forward. Durin the track stand you may have to make minor adjustments by pressing your choclate foot forward and letting of the break, so you are pluss and minussing your balence point, i think my longest tracky has been for 3 mins try beat it!
the wheelie is a good trick to learn this can amaze people as you do it with eaze for up to 1km+ there are variations such as the one handed wheelie, no footer, and the coaster wheelie, but just learn the simple wheelie first. to wheelie put the bike into a nice and even gear say 1-4 or 1-5 then simply pull the front end up with your uperbody while you put in a big half pedal stroke with your chocolate foot forward, then you just keep pedalling if you fear your going to fall backwards just apply the brake and release and keep pedalling, the pedalling breaking takes a bit of learning but once mastered it is a great asset to have as it can be used in other tricks. the coaster wheelie is just a wheelie without pedalling it takes alot of uperbody strength but once mastered it rulz!
The endo is a simple trick but is also a key trick to learn as it is the backbone of trials riding. to do the endo ride along at jogging speed with chocolate foot forward then apply the front brake suddenly and unwieght the rear wheel by pushing down back and up on the back pedal then as the rear wheel comes up simply bend your knees and move your family jules out the way of the seat or you will loose your fathers day. there are variations of the endo.
The endo pivot is a variation of the endo all it is, is an endo with a 180 degree twist or a 90 degree or whatever size you make it,
it is a handy trick to use when you dont have much room to turn around in.
all you have to do is and endo but before you slam on the front brake just turn the front wheel and swing the back wheel around using your hips
make sure to keep your shoulders parallel to the handle bar. the higher the endo the easier to pivot the lover the endo the more your hips have to work. The Bunny Hop
The bunny hop is am esential trick to have as it will set you up for the rear wheel hop the gap jump and the trick of unwieghting the rear wheel. When performing the bunny hop just do it over a little stick or something because if you try it over a gutter and dont get the hieght you will bend your rims. To perform the bunnyhop in one solid motion pull the handle bars to your chest and unwieght the rear wheel by pushing down back and up on the pedals then you straighten your legs in the air and when you come back to the ground bend your legs to cusion the impact. of the landing. There are many variations such as the parallel bunny hop and the mono-hop.
the parallel bunny hop is just the same as a bunny hop but instead you pull the fron wheel up and to the side then unwieght the rear wheel and usingf your hips like you do in the pivot swing the rear wheel across so it is parallel to the front wheel then land with legs straight to cusion the impact. this trick will come in handy when you need to hop up logs and down logs, aswell as up gutters and down gutters etc.
this trick is the master of all masters, this trick will or should take you the longest to masterthere are so many variations such as forward hop or simply rear wheel hopping forwars you can rear wheel hop up things down things and sideways like i said this trick is the best. you will find that you may stack alot at first and it maybe a bit embarasing infront of a crowed but once you get it wired ou will have the last laugh. To do the rear wheel hop the easiest way to learn is to endo then grab the bake break with one finger throw all your weight from the endo on the front wheel to the back wheel, and with all your mommentom you should be able to get vertical with the front wheel in the skyand toes pointing to the sky, to then hop you must simply turn the pedals parallel to the ground and pull the handle bars to the sky. at first you may only get one then two then the next day five hops but then you will get it and be able to hop aslong as you like, acting like a pogo stick.Once you have this mastered you can then try to get up onto the rear wheel without the endo so it is just a half pedal stroke up onto the rear wheel, to do this do a mono off the seat but catch the break as soon as the front wheel is high enough.
the forward rear wheel hop is the hardest to learn, if you tahught the basic rear wheel hop was hard wait until you try to hop forwards, to hop forward i like to get the front up the do about 3 normal hops then try and move forwards to move forwards just release the back brake and do a half pedal stroke and hop all in one motion so you just add a halp pedal strokeas long as you lower the front with your arms by pushing the front end down to the ground then releasing the break and giving it a half pedal stroke then hop and catch the brake in mid air so you dont end up on your back. if you want to rear wheel hop up something simply pull the bars up to the sky whilst in the air.
There are about 10 diffrent ways to drop off things i like to drop off parallel and the mono drop off to parallel dropoff endo pivot off the edge then once the rear wheel is bellow your front wheel pull the front wheel off what your dropping off then straighten legs for landingto do a 360 dropoff just endo pivot 180 then full the front around like your rock walking on air, the mono drop off is a simple mono but u mono off the edge and make sure your out of your seat and straighten legs for landing.
To gap jump simply mono up to the edge of something then when your back wheel is on the edge do a rear wheel hop forward and clear whatever you wanna clear, as easy as that!
