Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal, IndiaThe Taj Mahal is one of spectacular architecture still standing today! The TajMahal is located in Agra. former capital of India in 16th and 17th century. TajMahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan, in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal in 1612. The TajMahal even though called a palace, is in fact a tomb build to house the mortal remains of Mumtaz Mahal. This massive domed structure was contructed by 20,000 workers, it was constructed in the Indo-Islamic style using white marble and inlaid gems. At each corner of this structure is a minaret (prayer tower in the muslim religion), and passages from the Koran, the holy book of the Muslims. Taj Mahal in the city of Agra, India (I have been here)The bodies of the emperor and his beloved wife remain in a vault inside and below the building. Since I lived in India I had a chance to visit this amazing place, it breath-taking moment when you see the Taj Mahal in person. There has also been rumors and stories that after the Taj Mahal was build the emperor cut off the hands of those 20,000 workers who had constructed the Mahal(which means palace in Hindi), the emperor did that so those workers would not be able to construct such a beautiful architecture again. I strongly encourage you to vist the Taj Mahal, if you get an opperunity to visit it!
