Miami Screaming Eagles Memories

I also have a story about Miami of the WHA. I had a sports card store in Tucson Az. for over 15 years. One day a man who I think said he was Bob came in and said that one of the other stores in Tucson had sent to me. He asked if I was a hockey fan and if I had ever heard of the Miami Screaming Eagles of the WHA league. I said yes but they never played a game and folded before the league started. Bob said that he had worked for the Miami hockey club inc. in 1971. He was a salesman for season tickets. He worked for about 4 months in a office in Hollywood Fla. He said that the team worked the older northern retired people who might be hockey fans. He saaid that he did well getting 20% down from people who wanted to be in on the ground floor of the hockey team in Fla. But then the local papers started to ask where this team would play till this new arena would be located. Sales stopped. and the office was closed. He still had 2 weeks pay coming. But all that was left in the office was a few hundred bumber stickers and a pucks that were made up for sales aids, and about 9 phones. He took all he could find and left never to see his money or any of the people he worked with again. This is how I became the owner of about 30 bumber stickers and 6 pucks that Bob still had. This is my story about the Miami Screaming Eagles.
