The 1974 eight-game seris between Team Canada and the Soviet National was the second seris between these two teams in the last two years. The 1974 Team Canada was led by WHA-NHL superstar Bobby Hull and was joined by other stars like Pat Stapleton, Gordie Howe, J.C. Tremblay, Frank Mahovlich, and recently signed winger Paul Henderson. Henderson was a great addition to the team adding strengh with a great shot from the wing. Between the pipes was Cleveland goaltender Gerry Cheevers with Don McLeod serving as the backup. Also joining the team was Gary MacGregor, a top draftee of the Chicago Cougars, unfortunatly Gary had never played a WHA game and never did contribute to the team. Toronto's Bill Harris served as team coach with Bobby Hull as his assisant.
