How to make a Swab/Squeegee

Ok now everyone uses a swab at one time or another. Well if your like me you lose about every other one! Ok Ill show you how to make cheap and easy swabs that work very well! 1- get a bandanna any color will work use the square type found at most dime stores,be sure to get cloth not plastic or leather. 2- put a nickel in the dead center when lying flat on the table and trace around it with a felt pen or sharpie! 3-- now cut from the corners to the center mark where the nickel was. 4---now all four corners are cut cut between each corner to your mark. 5-- Now you should have 8 cuts towards the center take and make a SMALL slit in the center just big enough to put a piece of cloth clothesline through, this slit will be in the center of the nickel outline! 6---cut your clothesline about 1 foot longer than the barrel! 7---- Go to local hardware store and get a faucet washer (rubber) the size to fit in the barrel just a little loose and put one end of clothesline through (tip light end of rope to seal) 8-- now we should have a piece of rope with a washer on one end, tie a tight knot close to end of rope and slide washer (cone or beveled side up if there is one) all the way against the knot 9--- now slide the cut cloth down over the rope to the washer. 10--- now burn the other end and put through the barrel and wrap around your hand(thats why we make it longer!!) and pull it will be tight! ok here is the list of materials!! 1--cloth clothesline 2----rubber washer to fit in barrel kinda loose 3---- bandanna cloth type thats it try it and let me know how it turns out

Anti Scratch Guard for a Barrel

Ok here is another low buck savings tip!!tired of wrapping up barrels or getting them scratched up? Ok here it is cheap and easy!! Go to local hardware store (I use Eagle) and go to plumbing section. Now go to the pipe insulation. What you want is a foam type of pipe insulation not fiberglass. Pick a piece of insulation for 3/4 copper pipe (they are not all the same!) buy 1 piece for up to 3 or 4 barrels it comes in 4-6ft lengths it will usually have self adhesive taped edges just cut 1 in longer than barrel and peel tape and press edges together. you will have a foam tube to put your barrels in!!! If you dont have taped edges then use contact cement to glue edges! If you have a friend who insulates pipe get them to get you some "amourflex" it is a one piece rubber type insulation usually not found in stores, this rubber type is the best I have found for these protectors.

1-Use brasso on brass barrels to polish to a high gloss

2-Oven cleaner can be used on anodized parts to remove color.

3-Extra o-rings can be purchased at most Hardware Stores(Eagle, and Home Depot)

4-Keep co2 warm in the winter with a hand warmer works in a pinch(disposable type)

5-A cooler is very convenient way of storing paint it will keep it out of sun or cold and they wont get crushed.

6-A Rubbermaid or other Box works great for storing you gear.

For most of us, our first Paintball tournament isn't always the best in terms of success. I will try and help you out by giving advice that I have learned during tournament play.

1.) Pre Tournament- Before your tournament begins, practices are crucial. You will need codes for several things such as elimination's for both your opponents and your own team, sweet spots, cover fire, etc. Try different drills for snap shooting (such as: place a gallon milk carton off of the side and one over the top of a bunker at a distance of about 25-30 yards. Pop out of the side and shoot 3 shots off at the milk carton then get back into the bunker. Do the same with the top milk carton. You will find that this gets easier and quicker the more you do it.) 3 on 2 ( work on cover fire and movement) and if possible try to scrimmage another team. The more experience and practice the better off you will be!

2.) Walk the Fields- What I mean by this is get to the tournament site early and check out the fields. Have your team captain find out running order and the game format as soon as possible. All players walk the fields. Look for crawling lanes, sweet spots (critical bunkers that have the opportunity to control a game), firing angles, etc. You need to make sure that every player knows each others rolls throughout the game. Once this is done think up a game plan and "dry run" it on the field. Check to see if timing of cover fire etc. is good. Always have an alternative strategy to fall back on. Although walking the fields may not be the funnest of things to do in order to prepare for a tourney, it will make your 20 minutes of game time a lot more enjoyable!

3.) Game Time!- Get to your first game on time and be ready. The site where you are headed and your job on the field should now be clear. When the whistle blows don't hesitate. Sprint as fast as you can to your objective. Try to figure out the location of your opponents and communicate this to your teammates. Then, to the best of your ability, try to use your game plan. Shoot a lot of paint! You may not like the "spray and pray" technique but it does several things. First you can eliminate and opponent. Second, it keeps your opponent down under his cover making him unalert to what is happening around him. While he is pinned down, it allows teammates to move and the opponent can be bunkered by another player. Remember, if all else fails, revert to your back up strategy and fall back.

4.) Have Fun- Most of all have fun!
