They played 3 N.A.C. games. They came in second twice and first once. It was cool. Best in the West - June 27 & 28, 1998 All right homies, here is my commentary on this years' western regionals. It was freaking awesome! The syndicate is glad to be taking home a plaque. After the first night of tune-up games on Thursday night, many of the team was trying to learn the maze and stuff to make sure they found cool spots they could periscope from...hehe. Cool teams we hung out with: Phoenix, Mesa, and Mountain View. Friday, much of the same, but with organized tune-up games. Many of these games took place under the right tower. Cool teams we hung out with: Phoenix, Mesa, Calgary, Modesto, and Denver. Saturday, we kicked some butt. We were undefeated for a day, facing teams like Federal Way, Modesto, Calgary B, and Denver B. All teams were cool that night. Sunday, AintNoLuvn and I found out that we have no skill what so ever in the skills game. Phoenix, of course, took the top 6 spots. Then we got reemed by Mesa and Denver A, at 1:00 and barely made it into the Divisional Playoffs. We, naturally, took second next to Phoenix. Right after our game, we played Fresno and Salt Lake City for 4th place. We took 6th, but we are gonna make heads turn in Knoxville! Every team imaginable was at the hotel that night, so it was all cool. Tussle in Tennessee - September 11-13th, 1998 All right homies, here is my commentary on this years' NAC. What a fun and enjoyable weekend had by most! The Syndicate got a pretty good reputation out of the whole thing, and also placed 14th out of 21 teams. I won't bore you with stats or anything like that, but i will tell you that your's truly received the Golden Puck Divisional Champion award for excelence in air hockey, and second place by defeating Rampage (fat guy from Centerville that has no air hockey skills at all), and Gregg Thompson (A great guy, VP of Laser Quest). Alas, my winning came to a screeching halt when i played Dark Angel from Austin, he beat me like a red-headed stepchild. But, enough w/ the Air Hockey, on with the rest of the weekend. Thursday: We landed in Nashville, then drove 3 hours to our hotel in Knoxville, Cedar Bluff to be exact. We then headed to LQ Knoxville, just about one mile down the 40, this is a free standing Laser Quest (pretty cool), nice huge parking lot good for basketball, 4-square, ultimate frisbee, and a bar-b-q. Played a couple of public games, and then called it quits for the night and watched some non-penetration pornography. Friday: I have no idea what the rest of the team did, cause i was hanging out w/ the Phoenix Pyros all day. We all went to Pigeon Forge to go Indoor Skydiving for the Pyros' pre- tournament extreme outing. But, to our dismay, they decided to wipe the blood off the fan blades that day. So we walk accross the street to the Ultrazone, but that was closed till 4. So we continued w/ Zebra's plan of fun and headed on down to Gatlinburg to play the bootleg version of laser tag that we all know and love: Q-Zar! It was the worst $8.14 all of us have ever spent. Then we went to the hotel, then back to LQ for practice games n stuff. Saturday: Well, what can i say, we did better than some, we took second in our game against Fresno and Knoxville, Fresno took first. We had the Mixed packs in that game. Then came our toughest challenge of the tourney, Brampton and Denver, w/ us in the dreaded red packs, we didn't even score a point, we suck. That night, there was a little celebrating by emitting showers of sparks. Sunday: The day of truth as some would call it, i called it bootleg, kicked butt in our game against Madison Heights and Charlotte, taking first by 400. FSU bee-i-itch. |
