CLOUSER DEEP MINNOW

The Clouser Deep Minnow or Clouser Minnow was originally tied by Bob Clouser to imitate small baitfish to target largemouth bass in the U.S. and has found its way to just about every corner of the globe. For good reason, it catches fish and does so consistantly. A friend of mine, Peter Morse who is the host of SBS's WILDFISH program, believes that any fish will take a chartreuse & white clouser and it is one of Flip Pallots, famed American flyfishing guru, favourite bonefish flies.
This fly has accounted for as wide a variety of fish from flathead to bonefish to XOS golden trevally in Queenslands Hervey Bay area.

Materials :

Hook : Size 4-2/0 Mustad 34007 or Gamakatsu SS15
Eyes : Bead Chain or lead dumbell size to suit hook
Wing : Bucktail or goathair with a few strands of krystal flash (dress lightly). Use a darker colour.
Underwing : Bucktail or goathair (generally white or light in colour).
As a starting point tie flies in chartreuse & white, orange & black and blue & white. But remember that the colour schemes are only limited by your imagination. Go for it and good fishing.
