CRAZY CHARLIE

The Crazy Charlie had its beginings in the late 70's. It was designed by Bob Nauheim whilst fishing on Andros Island in the Bahamas and was named after Bonefish Charlie Smith.
Originally tied to imitate glass minnows to catch bonefish it soon became apparent that it was a good representation of a shrimp.
This fly has taken everything from fussy bonefish and permit(snub nosed dart) to flathead and flounder to black bream and trevally.

Materials :

Hook : Size 10-4 Mustad 34007 or Gamakatsu SS15
Body : Krystal Flash, chenille, nymph rib.(Just about any body material)
Eyes : Bead Chain or lead dumbell size to suit hook
Wing : Bucktail or goathair with a few strands of krystal flash

All materials can be substituted to suit and colour schemes are endless.
As a general starting point whites, yellows, pearls, greens and mixtures of each all produce fish.
Good Luck.
