WHISTLER FLY

Although the Whistler fly, orignally tied by American Dan Blanton, is a very basic design it has long been used by anglers throughout the world because of its ability to take fish. Dubbed the Whistler because of the whistling noise the bead chain eyes made when the fly was cast through the air, this fly was firstly aimed at Pacific and Atlantic Tarpon. It has however, much like Lefty's Deceiver, accounted for countless species.
This fly has been used to imitate various snapping shrimps and even small baitfish. It is very effective in shallow water flats, cast to sighted fish.
