What is rowing about?

Eight oars slice the water in perfect syncopation-the ultimate team sport!
Muscles strain. Hearts pound. As if one body, the entire crew strives for that single goal.
They strive to equal the challenge of this sport, to set new limits of endurance, to find new depths of courage and resolve.
It is a goal that has little to do with trophies and fanfare and much to do with personal triumph.
This "terrible beauty" is the stuff of which rowing is made.
Its unforgiving discipline is both frightening and compelling.

The Los Gatos Rowing Club was founded by people who have experienced the mystery of the sport that is rowing.
Our charter is to offer young people that experience and the chance to discover themselves and their potential.

The Junior Program is supported by a Booster Club comprised of other rowers, family and friends of rowing.
Those who are unable to afford the annual dues are accommodated.

Los Gatos Rowing Club's goal is to expand this program to serve a larger
number of young men and women from a greater geographic area.
The programs, the people and the potential all exist for the Club to
become the West Coast center for national and Olympic oarsmen and oarswomen.
