So many matches, no heat for over half of them. Hey, this sounds like RAW. It's a shame. But it wasn't that bad. If you missed it on Sunday, order the replay on Tuesday.
Owen Hart vs. Edge
What was the point of this match, can anyone tell me? They're both from Canada, yes. But as far as I could tell, they just had this match as filler. Owen Hart was still the hell, even though they were in Canada. Odd. Someone had a sign in the crowd that said "Bret Who?" Very good. As for the match, pretty decent. Very straight forward. No cheating or anything. Some guy, wearing a black leather jacket and with long blonde hair comes to the ringside area and says something to Edge. He gets distracted, and Owen rolls him up for the pinfall victory.
Too Much vs. Al Snow/Scorpio w/Head
No publicity for this match, whatsoever. Why? They're all great wrestlers. They all deserve some publicity. During the match, Snow goes beserk with Head, using it as a weapon against Too Much. The ref was being distracted by Scorpio, so he didn't see any of this. Accidentally, he hits Scorpio with Head. Oops! Snow hits the Snowplow on Scott Taylor and pins him for the victory. After the match, Scorpio talks to Snow about his mistake.
Darren Drozdov vs. Marc Mero w/Jacqueline
Again, there was no point to this match. It was good, but there was just no point in it. The ref is being distracted by Mero. Jackie goes to the top rope and hits Droz with the heel of her high heel shoe. Mero follows it up with the Marvelocity (a newly renamed Wild Thing) and pins him for the victory.
NO HOLDS BARRED/PINFALLS COUNT ANYWHERE:
Vader vs. Bradshaw
Vader delivers some of the absolute WEAKEST chair shots in the industry. In my opinion, the WWF is ruining Vader. He needs to turn heel, quickly. Maybe get himself a manager, like Jim Cornette, again. He could be a Championship contender, but he's being used terribly. As for the match, both men kicked out of a pin after their respect finishing moves. But Bradshaw, now clean shaven and with a short haircut, wins by pinfall after a neckbreaker.
D'Lo Brown vs. Gangrel
Ref is distracted by D'Lo, and Mark Henry attacks Gangrel outside the ring. D'Lo follows it up with a Low Down and pins him for the victory. After the match, Gangrel spits some of that "red liquid" in Mark Henry's eyes, and then does his "Super DDT" on D'Lo.
Just a side note to this match, Jerry Lawler was talking about how backwards Canada is. Someone in the crowd was holding a "Hulkamania" sign!
TRIPLE THREAT STEEL CAGE MATCH:
The Rock vs. Mankind vs. Ken Shamrock
Excellent match. No publicity for it, but it was excellent. Some highlights included a three way abdominal stretch, and a double People's Elbow drop! Mankind even tried to "Snuka" the Rock, but he moved just in time. Shamrock tries to leave by using the door, but as he's being pulled back in, he grabs a chair and brings it into the ring. Mankind uses the chair to knock out Shamrock. He starts to climb out of the cage, but the Rock pins Shamrock for the victory! Mankind, meanwhile, thinks he won!
Val Venis vs. Dustin Runnells
Venis brings out Terri Runnells, wearing a very sexy dress. She looks good. Dustin gets to distracted now. Venis wins with the MOney Shot. After the match, Venis and Terri kiss in the ring.
During the match, Jim Ross mentions that Goldust has beaten Razor Ramon twice for the IC Champion. I thought he only beat him once. If someone can clear this up for me, please E-Mail Me
X-Pac/New Age Outlaws vs. Jeff Jarrett/Southern Justice
Not much to say. Standard 6 man tag. All hell breaks loose at the end. Billy Gunn pins Mark Canterbury with a Rocker Dropper. X-Pac gets a guitar smashed over his head by Double J during the match. It looked like he possibly got a splinter in his eye. Oooh.
WWF CHAMPIONSHIP / TRIPLE THREAT MATCH:
Steve Austin (champion) vs. Kane vs. Undertaker
Undertaker making his entrance, and Steve Austin runs behind him and hits him with a chair. No theme music for Austin today! During the match, first the Undertaker tries to pin Austin, but Kane breaks the pin. Then, the Undertaker breaks a pin for Kane. Then they fight! It turns into a real triple threat match! The match ends when Kane/UT perform a dobule chokeslam on Austin. They both pin him at the same time....1......2........3! Austin loses, but who wins? Gerald Brisco grabs the Championship belt and gives it to McMahon. He goes to his limo, with Austin following him. He gives Austin the finger and says it's mine, and then leaves the arena. What??
