Notes
1. Patterson wins a fictitious tournament; returns to the US and World Wrestling Federation television with the Intercontinental title.

2. Santana continues to defend the belt for two weeks after losing it, until the title change was aired on television.

3. The Warrior vacates the title on 4/1/90 after winning the World Heavyweight Championship.

4. Perfect defeats Tito Santana in the finals of an 8-man tournament to capture the title.

5. Michaels is stripped of the title in taking a leave of absence.

6. Ramon defeats Rick Martel for the vacant title.

7. Goldust's title is held up after a match versus Savio Vega on 4/1/96. He wins the rematch to reclaim the belt.

8. Ahmed is stripped of the title due to inability to defend it (thanks to an injury caused by Faarooq Asad).

9. Mero defeats Faarooq in the finals of a tournament on Raw to win the vacant title.

10. Commissioner Slaughter forces Austin to forfeit the belt due to a neck injury suffered days before at SummerSlam.

11. Owen defeats Faarooq in the finals of a tournament to crown the new IC champion.

12. Austin forfeits the title, which is given to Maivia.

13. Vince McMahon strips an injured Hunter Hearst Helmsly of the title, ordering a one-night tournament to take place on Raw. Shamrock defeats Steve Blackman and Val Venis in the opening rounds, then X-Pac in the finals to capture the title.
