My History:I was born in a small town along the Monongahela River, which is south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When I was five years old, my family moved to the town of Munhall, Pennsylvania, which was closer to my father's job, and where I grew up. We are a family of five. I have one brother and one sister, both younger than myself. I attended Steel Valley High School and graduated in June of 1978. After graduation, I enlisted in the United States Air Force for a tour of four years. I had assignments at Lowery AFB, Colorado; Offutt AFB, Nebraska; Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan; and England AFB, Louisiana. My favorite assignment was Kadena, Okinawa, where I worked for the American Forces Radio and Television Service. For recreation, while at this base, I did a lot of bicycle touring and learned to SCUBA dive. I moved back in with my parents, after my enlistment, for a few years. Now being a veteran, I was eligible for money to attend school. I attended Electronics Institute in Pittsburgh and received an associate's degree in Computer and Electronic Technology. I also worked part time at the University of Pittsburgh as a television studio technician. Due to the demise of the local steel mills, the economy of the area was not offering much in the way of new employment, which was the main reason that I chose to seek employment, in my field, elsewhere. In 1984, I moved to Boulder, Colorado, lived in a tent, and searched for a job. After a few weeks I found employment, with the Ball Corporation, as an Electronics Design Development Technician. Wanting to live in the mountains, I bought an abandoned rustic cabin in Coal Creek Canyon and began making it habitable. To this day, I am still making the cabin, my home, habitable; which seems to be a never-ending job. I have been working toward a second degree in business programming at Front Range Community College. My spare time activities include mountain biking, rock climbing, and snowboarding. |
