Breaking News:

Fall fleet meeting agenda
Ratify summer schedule.  We’ll do as much as possible over email, but we will finalize the schedule at the meeting.

10/9/00:  Three emails were sent to the fleet today regarding fleet email aliases and uses, the 2001 summer series dates (proposed), and the fall agenda items.  Here they are:

S35 Fleet News #1 - fleet roster, email, and communications
S35 Fleet News #2 - 2001 summer race date proposals
S35 Fleet News #3 - fall fleet meeting agenda

7/31/00:  The list of Santana 35's planning to attend the Nationals in October continues to grow.  The following boats are either firmly committed, or very, very interested:

Spellbinder, Ice Nine, Spirit of Bombay, Flexible Flyer, Breakout, Bluefin, Fast Friends, Carnival, Gandolf, Northern Lights, Spirit of Elvis, Wet Corvette, At Ease, Dance Away, Green Spot, Wide Load , AWB, Swell Dancer

That's a big fleet: if you aren't on the list, let me know and come out and join the fun!

7/10/00:  The 2000 Santana 35 Nationals will be held October 6-8 out of the San Francisco Yacht Club.  Friday the 6th is for practice only, and won't count towards the National Title.  This event is the now annual Bay Area Schock regatta, and will also be the West Coast, National, or World championships for a bunch of Schock designs.  Expect huge fleets of every Schock boat from Lido 14s up to the turbo-charged Schock 40s.

Currently, we have well over a dozen Santana 35s planning on attending, so join the fun!  If you are from outside the bay area, contact 'brendanb@santana35.com', and we can try to find a charter S35 for you to use.

6/26/00:  Santana 35’s are dominating PHRO 2 in Ocean racing.  Dance Away and Wide Load ended up first and second for the first half  of the series.

DANCE AWAY  STORKOVICH  S 35    7   2   4   1   1*  8

WIDE LOAD   WILCOX      S 35    2   6   1   6   13  15

On the Half Moon Bay race, Dance Away was not only first in division but first overall in the entire fleet of 30+ boats!  They beat all (3) J35’s boat-for-boat even though the J35s started 5 min ahead of the S35’s (and are rated quite a bit faster!).  How’s that for our old boats!

(Note: last year Ice Nine won the Farallons, both division and entire fleet.  Get your S35 on the ocean--they are very competitive out there!)

Please remember that the Lightship II race is free for all registered ODCA S35 racers,  We would love to see more S35’s out there to fill the other top spots!
