SEPULTURA - CHAOS A.D (8.3 on the Richter Scale)

This is the first Sepultura CD that I purchased (I bought the early ones later on) and it is one of my favourites. It is quite different from the band's previous releases with the band leaning away from its speed/death metal style and experimenting with a more thrash metal tendency towards the songs. The first track 'Refuse/Resist' has even been picked up by the Manga video company as and intro song at the start of some of their video, although minus vocals. This is Sepultura's first album containing obvious tribal influences, with the percussion song 'Kaiowas', which shows how the band is progressing as is later seen in the album 'Roots'. All in all Chaos A.D is an awesome album, which for me, rivals with Arise as their best ever.

Highlights: Refuse/Resist, Slave New World, Territory.
