SLAYER - DIABOLUS IN MUSICA (7.6 on the Richter Scale)
For starters, I would like to say Diabolus in Musica (Devil in Music) is a very good name for this mean piece of ball crushing work. From the slow grinding intro of Bitter Peace, to the electronic sounds of Overt Enemy, then on to the fury of Scrum and the pace and hate of Wicked. This album has to be an accolade of genius. Slayer has done it again, if your thinking Diabolus is an Undisputed Attitude type CD your wrong. It's a cross between Reign in Blood, Seasons in the Abyss and maybe a tiny, tiny bit of Undisputed in there. But it's Slayer breaking new ground and the boys have produced the goods. If you like Seasons in the Abyss, you'll love Diabolus. Kerry and Jeff seem to have there guitars tight and Tom has found some new and cool techniques for his singing like using a mechanised distorted type and some other cool shit. The drumming isn't Reign in Blood but it's cool.
High lights: Death's Head, Overt Enemy, Scrum and Wicked.
