WELCOME ! Links Bottom of page have fun!

Was organized in 1993 to serve the people of Rutherford County N.C.. We are a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3)status,with volunteers and having no paid staff. Our duties are to locate missing persons that have walked off and gotten themeselves lost unable to find there way back to their love ones. The means of locating lost persons are by mantracking and the use of K-9's which have been trained to locate missing persons. As of this date we have over 15325. manhours of actual searches which is callouts, either in Rutherford County or neighboring counties and 29730. hrs training. We plan to educate what to do in case you get lost. Some of the things to do is Stop,Think,Observe, and Plan. It is very important to stay calm and not run around, stay put if you are not sure what to do. You should have told someone where you where going and when you plan to be back so if you are late someone will start having us looking for you. Think about where you are and the suroundings your at, did you see them before or anything looks familiar, did you pass by here before?. The next thing you will need to do is start planning what you are going to do while you wait, is it going to be cold tonight or below 50 deg. which will cause hypothermia if so you need to plan to make a shelter to stay warm and protect yourself from the rain and weather. Are you Prepared? Shoes that you are wearing, are they right for the job? Clothing what are they made of, is it the right stuff? What are your plans so you have a map and compass,do you know how to use them? CAN YOU STAY ALIVE!. People have ask us what makes a good search dog. The dog must be eager and playfull and have agility. We start training the dogs when their 6 weeks old every day until they pass our qualifications, if the dog follows all the guidelines set by this organization then they are ready to go on their first search. The correct word for these dogs that search for missing persons are mantrailers they use their nose instead of looking for tracks, our body sweats off raffs that the K-9 picks up and IDs you, this is like a finger print that the K-9 knows who he is looking for even in a crowd. Our team is made up of volunteers which are Housewifes,Police Officers,Rescue Workers,D.O.C. Officers, Animal Control Officers, Teachers,Nurses,Comunication Officers, and Lay persons. We have had training from S.E.S.A.R.,N.A.S.A.R., Community Colleges,Compass and Map Navigation,K-9 handling ,Mantracking, K-9 Obedience Training,CGC evaluator. The handlers must be in good health and be able to pass the test set by the organization. In all kinds of weather and terrian. Remember we are working for the lost Victim!. If you know someone that is a volunteer say thank you for most this is all they get for their hard work. Below are some photos of our teams at work and training. If you have someone missing please call 911.
