The Dakota Ridge trail traverses a beautiful 'hogback' near the small town of Morrison, with views of Denver on one side and the Red Rocks amphitheater and mountains to the west. After about three miles of very challenging terrain, we crossed the road and returned on the easier but no less scenic Red Rocks Trail.

finishing the first technical downhill.
In a scenic meadow, preparing for
the toughest climb of the ride (we all had to dismount and walk it).

steep but short rock slab.
