Last night's ride was an absolute blast. We had a few people bail at the last minute, but a small group of us -- Erik and his wife Natalie, his next door neighbors Tom and Eric, Mike Stieber, and me -- hit the trail at around 5:30 in a jovial mood.

We pedaled westward through town toward Wonderland Lake, where we jumped on the Foothills trail and turned north under the gorgeous warm sunshine.

We meandered east, through the underpass at Highway 36, and rolled up onto a mesa with fantastic views of Boulder to the south and Boulder Reservoir straight ahead.
On the mesa
A fast downhill run took us off the mesa, and soon we reached the Res. It was only 6:30, and we couldn't resist a quick loop around the reservoir.

Before long we were back at Erik & Natalie's place, where they generously offered to make dinner for the lot of us. Mike had prior plans, so he missed out on a great dinner with many laughs.
