football when he was
fourteen at Freedom High in
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. By
senior year at Freedom High, he was
considered one of the
best defensive tackles in
Pennsylvania. He was scouted by
Dennis Erickson, the head coach at
the University of Miami
and offered a four-year football
scholarship with the
Miami Hurricanes. As a defensive
tackle, he won a National
Championship with Miami in 1991.
After his graduation at
Miami, he signed a contract with the
CFL team, Calgary
Stampede. A back injury ended any
NFL aspirations.
