(The office of Jeff Jockspur Jackson. Jeff is sitting placidly behind his desk while Kit paces back and forth relentlessly.)

Kit: How could you possibly not have known there would be things as dangerous as an all-freaking Cole about! You're the head of everything, Jeff, if your connections can't warn us about this sort of danger then WHAT GOOD ARE THEY?!

Jeff: Kit. Sit down.

Kit: (glares quickly at him and continues) Seriously. I mean, what could you have been thinking? "They're skilled, they can handle BEING DESTROYED." I should quit, I should quit, and you're lucky I'm not-

Jeff: (annoyed) Kit! You're taking this out on me and I'm not the one who did it!

Kit: I-

Terrance: (quietly) He's right, Kit... no one's hurt, after all...

Kit: (turning to Terrance, imploringly) But they could have been, Terry!

Terrance: (smiles, V.O.) What she means is "YOU could have been."

Kit: (looking at Terrance with a confused expression) Oi? You still there, Terry?

Terrance: (snaps out of it) My name is Terrance! (mentally panics, V.O.) And here I was trying to be nice to her!

Kit: (smiling) That's better. Now, Jeff-

Jeff: Kit, I understand you're distraught but we can't deal with this if you're hysterical.

Kit: (takes a deep breath and sits down) Calm, collected and... (grabs Jeff's coffee mug and downs half of it) Caffienated.

Terrance: Dork.

Jeff: I honestly had no idea there would be anything like the Cole that attacked Ms. Teasdale's computer. Whoever is after Mr. Hedgecoth, ladies, he or she is very good at what it does.

(a short silence)
Kit: Jeff, can I talk to you alone?

Terrance: (a little hurt) I'll be down in the lobby, getting a drink. (leaves and slams the door)
