LEFT: Since my cab corners were totally missing due to rust, I ordered a set of patch panels and had them welded in. RIGHT: Once the new cab corners were in I bought another set of fenders and put a different hood on it. |
In these two pics you can see the fenders and hood that I got to replace the old ones. They lacked the rust over the headlight buckets that can be very difficult to fix, but had a thick layer of bondo on them that I had to sand off for a clean starting surface. I traded the old hood for this one because it had the emblem on the front and was in better shape |
TOP LEFT: This picture shows what the '59 looked like after it came back from the bodyshop with the cab and fenders primed. BOTTOM LEFT: I wanted to see what the front end would look like with the hood emblem and headlights in. RIGHT: Once the cab was in primer I started looking at the box and decided it would be cheaper to replace it with one that was in better shape than trying to fix the original. | ||
