I've been in Guatemala studying Spanish at Juan Sisay in Xela for 3 weeks now, and I'm really learning a lot. I've had some questions about how I chose this school, so I'll post some comments here. I read former students comments in newsgroups, and on spanish school rating pages like guatemala365.com After narrowing down the top schools I chose Juan Sisay because it had really good reviews, and was slightly less than some of the other highly rated schools. I reregistered a week before arriving, which is not required, but I decided to anyway because then they would be waiting for me when I arrived. One word of advice for those looking for a good Spanish School in Quetzaltenago, or Guatemala in general: don't pay the pre-registration fee that some sites charge. You can just send an email directly to the school, or fill out the free registration form at JuanSisay.com The school doesn't get any of the registration fee anyway, and even if you pay the fee, there is no guarantee that they will have space, so you may as well save your money.
